THIRTY residents in a Tyne Valley village have been affected by a power cut.

The fault affects residents in the Bardon Mill area with a NE47 7 postcode after a fault on the overhead power network, with the first problems having been detected at 6:30am this morning.

"Our teams are working to repair a fault on the overhead power network that supplies the area and are expecting power to be restored early this afternoon," said a spokeswoman for Northern PowerGrid.

"We know that customers in this area have experienced disruption to their power supplies recently due to a transient fault on the network and this repair should prevent any further disruption.

"We’d like to thank our customers for their patience whilst our team works to get the lights back on.”
