A MAN was arrested over the weekend after a "large" street fight.
Just after midnight on Saturday, police received a report of a large fight in the street on Cameron Road, Prudhoe.
Officers attended the scene and found a large number of people in the street; it is believed an altercation between neighbours had resulted in violence but nobody was seriously inured.
A Northumbria Police spokesman confirmed on Monday: "A 31-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of affray but he has since released with no further action".
Anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to contact police on 101 quoting log 14 21/02/21.
Coun. Gordon Stewart, who represents Prudhoe South, said: "I have been contacted by concerned residents regarding this incident, and as a result spoken with the police.
"Prudhoe is a town with low levels of crime and anti-social behaviour, I am pleased that no serious injuries were caused and the police dealt with the matter quickly."
