Two more people have lost their lives in relation to Covid-19 at Northumbria healthcare hospitals.

As a result, the death toll relating to Covid-19 at the trust’s hospitals now stands at 659 since the pandemic began.

45 new cases of coronavirus were also confirmed in Northumberland in the latest figures released by the County Council, although this is down from 68 yesterday.

It means there’s now been a total of 16,156 positive cases of the virus since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic in Northumberland.

In our region, Prudhoe North remains the worse-affected ward, with the latest figures confirming it now has increased to seven active positive cases.

The list however shows South Tynedale, which was level with Prudhoe North on six yesterday, has now dropped and has between zero and four positive cases.

Stocksfield and Broomhaugh and Bellingham both also stay on the list, each with five active positive cases, although Humshaugh has now dropped to between zero and four current cases of the virus.

The rate of the virus now stands at 5.016 cases per 100,000 people accross Northumberland.
