A further four people have died in relation to Covid-19, data by Northumbria Healthcare hospitals has confirmed. 

The news of the deaths now means a total of 657 people have died in relation to coronavirus in the region since the pandemic began.

The Tyne Valley has also seen more wards appear on the worse-affected list when it comes to positive active cases compared to yesterday.

Both South Tynedale and Prudhoe North both have six confirmed cases currently in their areas, with Stocksfield and Broomhaugh and Humshaugh also remaining on the worse affected list, with both districts having five current cases.

Compared to yesterdays figures released by Northumberland County Councily, Bellingham has also seen a slight increase in the number of positive cases, with the ward now increasing to five case also.

In total, the stats show a total of 68 new positive cases were confirmed, up from 52 yesterday, bringing the total of positive cases in Northumberland since the pandemic began up to 16,111.
