A MAN sent a police officer a 'grossly offensive' message via the Northumbria Police website.
At South East Northumberland Magistrates' Court on February 16, Lee Nicholson (31), whose address was given as St Helen's Street, Corbridge, pleaded guilty to sending the message contrary to the Malicious Communications Act 1988 to PC Walton.
He was given a conditional discharge for 12 months for the offence.
He was also ordered to pay costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £20.
