AFTER a delay of more than six months due to Covid, a refurbishment project is soon to begin at a Tyne Valley supermarket.

The Co-operative Food, in Prudhoe, will start improvement works on February 22, which are expected to last 10 weeks and represent a major investment in the store.

A statement said: "Whilst most of the alterations will be carried out overnight, to minimise disruption and avoid any temporary closure of the store, customers may still experience some minor inconveniences.

"Unfortunately, we will need to move some products around (some than more than once!) to allow the work to be completed, but store staff will be on hand to help you find what you need and answer any queries you may have.

"Services such as home delivery, Click&Collect and John Lewis parcel service will continue as normal throughout the works.

"I'd like to thank our customers and members for their patience during this time and look forward to presenting them with a fantastic, new store."
