A TYNE VALLEY town has been named among the top 10 locations across the UK with the biggest weekly percentage increases in buyer searches - according to a leading property website.
Home buyer searches surged by 22 per cent in Prudhoe, with the town listed eighth in the ranking by Rightmove.
Coun. Gordon Stewart, who represents Prudhoe South on Northumberland County Council, was delighted with the news - but not surprised!
He said: "Prudhoe has a great history, but is now forward thinking with a fantastic range of houses, highly rated schools and a range of shops and businesses with employment opportunities.
"It is a large town surrounded by wonderful countryside, with an outstanding and friendly community, there are many great reasons to be very proud of Prudhoe."
Berwick-upon-Tweed, also in Northumberland, was listed as having a 32 per cent increase on the week.
