A PRUDHOE man was caught driving whilst disqualified.

At South East Northumberland Magistrates' Court last Thursday, Neil Edgar (64), of Castle Road, admitted driving while disqualified and driving with no insurance.

Both offences related to an incident on Prudhoe's Front Street on July 31 last year.

A 18-month community order with the requirement of carrying out 60 hours of unpaid work was imposed.

He was also ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £95 and court costs of £85. His driving licence was endorsed with six penalty points.

There was no separate penalty imposed for the driving with no insurance charge.
