The annual national Harry Potter Book Night has been postponed until June 24 this year due to the current lockdown situation.

However, Northumberland Libraries have decided to go ahead and celebrate the night virtually on Thursday, February 4.

This year the magical theme is Diagon Alley, and Northumberland Libraries have said they will be inviting witches, wizards and muggles from across the county to discover the secrets of its spellbinding shops and stores.

As their libraries are closed currently, there will be virtual magical fun at 4pm every day from Friday, January 29, until February 4.

Harry Potter fans will be able to follow Harry on his first trip down Diagon Alley and join in with some magical crafts inspired by the shops he finds there.

The event is taking place on the Northumberland Libraries Facebook Page (www.facebook.com/northumberlandlibraries/).

There is no need to book.
