A MAN has been given a suspended sentence for carrying a large kitchen knife in a public place.
Daniel Brian Boag (30), of John Martin Street, Haydon Bridge, pleaded guilty at North Tyneside Magistrates' Court to possessing the blade in his street on June 27.
He was sentenced to prison for 26 weeks, suspended for 18 months.
Boag was ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £128 and pay court costs of £85.
