POLICE have provided an update for motorists following a road closure in the Tyne Valley on Thursday morning.
The A68 closed after officers were informed that a number of lorries had become stuck in the snow on the A68 at the Stagshaw Roundabout, near Corbridge, at shortly before 8am.
Northumbria Police said the road has reopened - however motorists are still being advised to avoid the area.
A spokeswoman for the force said: "Officers attended the scene to assist and the road was closed for a short period while gritters attended.
"Due to adverse weather conditions it is advised HGVs use the A1 and avoid the A68 and A696 where possible."
