A LORRY became stuck in the snow after leaving the road in the early hours of the morning on a rural Northumberland road.

The lorry came off the A696 at Otterburn on Friday morning.

A spokeswoman for Northumbria Police said: "At 3.30am on January 8 we received a report that a lorry had veered off the road on the A696 near Otterburn in snowy conditions and became stuck.

“The driver was not injured in the incident.

“Snow ploughs cleared the area and the lorry was recovered later that night.”
