TYNEDALE residents have been recognised in this year's New Year's Honours.
Corbridge resident Patricia Ann Ritchie, the chief executive of Newcastle City Council, has been made a CBE for services to local government and to public service reform.
Fellow Corbridge resident Stephen Holmes, the service director of adult social care at Northumberland County Council, was made an MBE for services to adult social care during Covid-19.
Lesley Braiden, of Ponteland, was also made an MBE for services to higher education for her role as the academic registrar at Newcastle University, from which she retired from last year.
