ONE goal saw Prudhoe YC Seniors stretch their lead to six points at the top of the Northern Alliance Division One table.

A goal in the 86th minute from Craig Fairley separated leaders Prudhoe and FC United of Newcastle on Monday afternoon, allowing Prudhoe to move clear of second placed Haltwhistle Jubilee whose crunch game with fellow title candidates Cramlington United was postponed.

Fairley's goal was the highlight of a scrappy affair, in which David Burns impressed for the Youth Club.

In the Premier Division, Ponteland United let slip a 2-1 lead as they went down 3-2 at home to Blyth Town.

Zack Bewley and Louis Calvert netted for United after they fell behind, but Blyth took the three points as a penalty from Shaun Gibson won it for them.
