CHRISTMAS celebrations have been marked in what some will agree is typical Tynedale fashion.
Dozens of farmers and families throughout the Allen Valleys have decorated old and unused tyres, decking out the material with spray paint, baubles, tinsel and wreaths.
The idea was first coined by resident Dani Henderson who said she encouraged others to take part to cheer people up.
And locals have taken the task in their stride to add colour and creativity to the Allen Valleys.
At Kingswood Farm, Whitfield, old tractor tyres have been painted white and decorated with a scarf and carrot to form a snowman.
Residents have embarked on tours of the Allen Valleys to view the festive tyres exhibition and were full of praise for the idea.
Jos Mahon said: "What a lovely way to make us smile, thank you!," while Diane Smith said: "very impressive and a great example of recycling."
