IF you head to Tynedale, you are sure to see one of the best pantomimes in the north of England.

That is according to the NODA North Virtual Awards which awarded Prudhoe-based Dragon Tale Theatre Group the prize for the best pantomime in the region for the second year in a row.

While this year's show was unable to go ahead due to Covid-19 restrictions, the group was awarded for its production of Rapunzel in 2019, going with the gong it won for its showing for Jack and the Beanstalk the year previous.

The annual pantomime has long been a highlight of the social calendar for many years, and we take a look back at how the stars of the local stage have endeared themselves to audiences with a variety of productions.

The actors have become such familiar faces that people now recognise them on the street - but without as much make up and costumes on!

Can you recognise any of the keen thespians on stage from the theatre group's productions from years gone by?
