SCHOOL children are set to light up footpaths on Hexham’s Sele with festive lanterns to create an emotive and colourful end to 2020.
Pupils from the town’s Sele First School, Hexham First School, and St. Mary’s RC First School, have been making paper bag lanterns for the project.
They received resources from Gary Wilson, of online company ThinkSmall, and is the chairman of Hexham Business Group.
The initiative will also celebrate the launch of a new My Hexham Card scheme, an annual membership service which provides access to exclusive offers and free gifts, as well as making donations to local charities.
Gary said “We decided to bring some positivity into the coming new year.”
The Hexham Christmas lanterns will be placed on the Sele tomorrow afternoon. Visit www.ThinkSmall.online for more about the initiative.
