SCORING the match winner came at a price for Riding Mill striker Dale Dodds.

While challenging to head home his side's fourth goal in the 4-3 victory over Wark, he received a punch to the nose from the home goalkeeper who came to try to clear his lines. The collision broken Dodds' nose but he still managed to celebrate what was the decider in a close fought game.

In an attacking game, man of the match Dean Barnard, Joe Mack and Matty Bloomer also registered for Mill, with a double from Ryan Gardner and an own goal looking likely to secure Wark a point until the late Dodds winner.

The three points moved Mill up to second in Division One, but leaders Bardon Mill Bowes Lyons refuse to give up ground as they thumped Heddon 9-1.

There were hat-tricks from man of the match Greg Irwin and Jack Barker, with Rob Hayes, Jamie Ellwood and Dan Kirkup also on target.

Owen Murtough starred for Hexham Phoenix as his two goals helped the Division One side to a 5-1 victory at Halfway House United, of Division Two, in the Presidents Cup.

Will Turnbull, James Stokoe and Lewis Loughhead also netted, with Sam Mannion hitting a consolation for Halfway.

Tom Quibell continued his impressive form in front of goal for Hexhamshire to earn his side all three points in Division Two.

The hitman made it 11 goals in eight games and his strike proved the difference in a close fought game with FC Ryton. James Percival impressed for Shire.

A hat-trick from Jamie Noutch and doubles from Gary and Marc Nixon helped Barrasford to a 9-3 victory over Heddon United U23.

Hellings and Muncer also scored and Craig Stanners was man of the match, with Heddon's goals coming from Michael Wright (2) and Aaron Daglish, while Adam Henderson was man of the match.

Heddon United Reserves conceded nine too as they were thumped 9-0 by Up The Street.
