A LOCAL food bank has issued an urgent appeal for supplies as the Christmas period approaches.
The Miners Lamp in Prudhoe has asked for a range of items to be donated at various points around the town.
A post on Facebook read: "Urgent request for food bank supplies.
"As a community you all do an amazing job donating to us but we have few things that we urgently need please.
- Jam
- Marmalade
- Peanut butter
- Toothpaste
- Toothbrushes
- Shower gels
- Gravy
- Stuffing
- Biscuits
- Mince pies
"If we could all buy just one more item this week in our shopping it would help a lot of families right on our doorstep."
Donations can be dropped off at the Miners Lamp between 10 and 12, while there are also collection points at Stocksfield Post Office and the Co-op petrol station in Prudhoe.
