A FORMER player has shown his support for the Hexham and District Sunday League.

A defender with Haltwhistle Railway, Mick Oliver is a big fan of the Sunday league and he has helped the committee out by sponsoring the league for the next two seasons.

His company, Bardon Mill-based ESI Ltd, has become the new main sponsor the league for the remainder of the 2020-2021 campaign, and the following season.

Mick and fellow members of staff were on hand to present the cheque to league chairman and committee member Mark Storey, the current manager of Haltwhistle Railway, ahead of the league resuming this weekend.

In the ESI Ltd Division One, Wark host Crawcrook Fox and Hounds, Heddon welcome Haltwhistle Railway and Hexham Phoenix are at home to Haydon Bridge Social Club.

Up the Street play host to Ryton Michelangelo's in Division Two, with Heddon United U23 at home to Halfway House United and Heddon United Reserves at home to Hexhamshire.

Bardon Mill Bowes Lyons travel to Prudhoe Halfway House in the first round of the ESI Ltd Presidents Cup and FC Ryton welcome Barrasford in round one of the League Cup.
