A motorist has pleaded guilty to drink driving while more than four times over the limit.
Alexander Melville, 38, of Corbridge, admitted the offence after being stopped by police in London on August 10.
South East Northumberland Magistrates’ Court heard a breath test recorded 165 micrograms of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35.
Melville was temporarily banned from driving while the case was being dealt with.
He was remanded on unconditional bail and will reappear at South East Northumberland Magistrates’ Court on December 2.
