An inquest into the death of a man whose body was found in a Tyne Valley hotel has recorded a conclusion of suicide.
The body of 51-year-old George Carson was discovered at the Queen’s Arms Hotel in Acomb on October 15.
Emergency services were called to the scene following reports of concern for a male, but Mr Carson was found dead.
An inquest into his death was held on Thursday, November 19 at Northumberland Coroner’s Court in County Hall, Morpeth.
It heard that Mr Carson's death was caused by hanging.
Senior Coroner Andrew Hetherington recorded a conclusion of suicide after considering the evidence.
Mr Carson was laid to rest on Monday, November 2 at St Andrew’s Cemetery, following a service at Hexham Abbey.
His family requested that donations may be given in Mr Carson's memory to Brain Tumour Research.
