A Tyne Valley beauty salon has reaped the benefits of a new Northumberland-based business support programme.

Through Business Northumberland one-to-one growth coaching, hair and beauty salon Fab Face and Body is looking to make the most of its website while face-to-face treatments can’t be carried out due to the pandemic.

Business Northumberland provides support to small and medium enterprises across the North East who are looking to sustain and grow their business online.

The fully-funded support programme is funded by the European Regional Development Fund and Advance Northumberland, so there is no cost to eligible businesses when accessing the support.

After joining the programme in June 2020, Fab Face and Body received 12 hours of one-to-one support as part of the growth programme element of Business Northumberland.

With dedicated support tailored to the needs of the business, Fab Face and Body now has a website and the knowledge to update and edit it meaning it can be run at a low cost.

It’s something that, in such uncertain times due to the pandemic, is vital to small businesses.

Partner Paul Murray said: “Being able to get access to the experts, for a 12-hour free programme with a business coach, as a paid service would be quite expensive, and small businesses can’t afford to do this.

“It was a massive benefit to us to gain the technical skills to now manage and maintain our website.”
