HEXHAM East remains high on the list of coronavirus cases in Northumberland - with other Tynedale wards featuring prominently. 

Northumberland County Council has published the number of positive cases per ward over the past seven days.

The number of cases in Hexham East is 26 - the same as Wednesday. However, the ward is now third in the county list, behind Choppington (28) and Hirst (47).

Next highest Tynedale ward on the list is Prudhoe North - 15th in the table with 18 positive cases over the past seven days. 

Over the same week-long period, Ponteland North has had 15 positive cases, Ponteland West 13, Ponteland South with Heddon 12, and Bywell 10. 

Other figures for the district are: Hexham West 9, Ponteland East & Stannington 8, South Tynedale 7, Prudhoe South 7, Hexham Central with Acomb 7, Stocksfield & Broomley 6, Haydon & Hadrian 6, Humshaugh 5, Bellingham 5.   

Latest figures from Public Health England have revealed a further two Covid-related deaths in Northumberland over the past 24 hours, taking the total number to 309. 

Total cases for Northumberland since March now stand at 7,339, an increase of 137 since Thursday.
