RESIDENTS in a Tyne Valley town were asked to take care after a hole opened up on a grassed area in a residential street.
The mysterious hole opened up on Wednesday at the top of Redwell Road in Prudhoe.
Council officers have repaired the damage, but are set to return to see if more work needs to be carried out.
A spokeswoman for Northumberland County Council said: "The council's highways team has now repaired the hole, and will return tomorrow to add some top soil.
"They will then monitor the area to determine whether any further remedial work is needed."
