VARIOUS tools were stolen from the inside of a parked van over the weekend in a Tyne Valley town.

Police received a report of theft from a motor vehicle on Carnaby Close, Prudhoe, at 11.30pm on Saturday, November 14.

A Northumbria Police spokesman said on Monday that it was reported that "offenders broke into a parked van and stole various tools from inside, before making off.

"Officers were deployed and carried out a search of the area, supported by the National Police Air Service (NPAS).

"Inquiries are ongoing to locate those responsible".

The spokesman also confirmed that the incident was not being treated as linked to any other investigation as things stand.

Elsewhere in the district, and unrelated, officers are "investigating the theft of a motorcycle from St Paul's Road, Hexham, at about 8pm on Saturday, November 14."

A Northumbria Police spokesman confirmed on Wednesday that “inquiries are ongoing to trace those responsible."
