Update to overnight power cut in the district
IT is understood power has been restored to homes affected by a power cut in the district overnight.
Fire services attended the South Road-Hillcrest junction, in Prudhoe, after an electrical cable caught alight at around 7pm. The road was temporarily blocked.
Electrical specialists from Northern Powergrid worked on site with a view to restoring power to 70 affected homes, by 2am
It is understood power was restored. However, Northern Powergrid has been contacted for a formal update.
