EACH year, hundreds of outdoor pursuits enthusiasts head to Tynedale for an annual clay shoot to raise thousands of pounds for local charities.

The Whitfield Annual Clay Shoot is a hugely popular event and has been drawing in large crowds for many a year.

The village of Whitfield is renowned for some of the finest game shooting in the UK, and the event was organised in a nod to that.

It’s perhaps somewhat fitting that one of the greatest sporting estates should also offer a clay shoot that almost matches the excitement of a big day at Whitfield in the game season.

The event is described by organisers as 'fast, furious and frantic; the action is set in beautiful parkland offering high pheasants, grouse, snipe, teal, rabbit, partridge, and pigeon stands.'
