A COUNTY councillor has spoken of his disappointment after a road in his ward was subjected to expletive graffiti.

An unknown person had written "F*** Boris" and "COVID lies" on a road near Haltwhistle

Coun. Ian Hutchinson, who represents the town, moved to remind residents that council officers, who are already stretched, would have to come out and remove the graffiti.

The highways team had been informed and went to clean it on Wednesday.

He added: "It's disappointing that somebody has been so childish to do this, and it's disappointing it's happened in my area.

"This pandemic is totally new, totally different. It's never happened before and I hope it doesn't happen again. "Regardless of who was in Government, they wouldn't have got it right. Nobody knows what right is."
