INDEPENDENT book stores are calling on the public to continue to shop local throughout the festive season.
Award-winning Forum Books, in Corbridge, will remain open for business online, despite the national lockdown, as it enters its busiest trading period.
In a bid to continue to shine a light on local book havens, shoppers are also being invited to shop at the newly-formed Bookshop.org - an online bookshop with a mission to financially support local, independent bookshops.
"We believe that bookshops are essential to a healthy culture," its website cheerfully exclaims, and it has pledged to donate profits from its online orders to independents.
