THE first business on Prudhoe's long-awaited retail park is set to open this month.
The B&M Bargains store on Tyneview Retail Park, Low Prudhoe, has a planned opening date of November 18 - although the company is yet to set the date in stone.
Other confirmed occupants so far include Greggs, Cafe Ginevra and Aldi.
A drive-through restaurant is also under construction, with McDonald's thought to be interested.
Coun. Gordon Stewart, who represents Prudhoe South, said: "I was delighted to visit the fantastic all new Tyneview retail park along with Tracy Gilmore, the Mayor of Prudhoe.
"Some said it would never be built!
"This will bring a choice of shopping venues & convenience, saving residents time and money."
