A TEAM of fund-raisers has helped a care project closer to its goal to provide a Covid-19 isolation unit for its residents.
A total of 33 people, including all trustees, did their bit to cover a combined total of 4,940 miles on their bikes, the equivalent of the UK’s coastline.
The group actually inadvertently exceeded the target and clocked up 6,190 miles, equalling an average of 37.5 miles each week by each cyclist.
The fund-raisers clocked up the miles individually but their miles contributed to the group total.
The challenge was carried out to raise money for an isolation unit at Corbridge’s Charlotte Straker House. People can donate by visiting www.charlottestraker.org.uk/isolationunit.
