TWO second half goals sent Hexham Celtic U12 into a second cup final this season.

Up against Cullercoats in the League Cup semi-finals, the game was on a knife edge at 1-1 until Hexham found the decisive goals to see them progress. It was a great result against tough opponents, and gives the youngsters a second final to look forward to.

Hexham Greens U17 remain top of the league despite losing their impressive two-year unbeaten streak. They paid the price for missing clear cut chances as Ryton went three goals clear.

Whereas Hexham came back from 3-0 to win 4-3 against the same opponents in the cup three weeks earlier, they were unable to do the same as, after missing a penalty, goals from Dan Simpson and Alex Waters saw them fall just short.

Hexham Whites U17 battled well against New Fordley before they too fell short. Man of the match Fin Marsden pegged Fordley back but the hosts managed to push on for the points despite good performances from goalkeeper Corey Dover, Alfie Twelvetree and Jack Davison too.

Four goals in the opening half hour saw Wylam Rockettes Falcons inflict a 4-0 victory over Hexham Lionhearts U14. It was an entertaining fixture as both sets of girls performed well but the early goals inflicted the damage to see Wylam come out on top against their Tyne Valley rivals.

Hexham Sporting U14 endured an injury crisis as they lost 4-0 on their travels to Felton and Stobswood.

Despite this, the lads covered themselves in glory with a spirited display.
