TRIBUTES have been paid to one of Hexham's most popular figures after he died this week.
Ernie Robson - known to many as Uncle Ernie - died in the early hours of Friday morning.
Ernie was well-known throughout Hexham for his decades of service with the Salvation Army, and for his willingness to stop and chat.
