RIDING Mill stepped up a gear in extra time as they progressed in the John Pickworth League Cup.

Tied 1-1 after 90 minutes in their round one match-cup with Prudhoe Halfway House, they scored three times to secure the 4-1 victory.

Jordan Teasdale scored twice and Richie Slaughter once to go with an own goal, while they also had goalkeeper Thomas White to thank for his role in the victory.

Division One leaders Bardon Mill Bowes Lyons showed no mercy on Division Two side Heddon United U23 as they put 12 goals without reply past them.

Man of the match Jack Barker led the way with five goals, and Dan Kirkup, Jamie Ellwood and Greg Irwin hit doubles. Mark Robson scored the other.

Haydon Bridge Social Club were rampant also as they travelled to Heddon United Reserves.

A treble from man of the match Sam Mannion and a goal from Will Quinn saw Halfway House United scrape past fellow Division Two side Barrasford 4-3.

Barrasford tried to fight back from 4-0 down but a double from Hamish Forsyth and a single from Gareth Rhodes saw them fall just short. Will McClure was named their man of the match.

Four goals from star man Tom Quibell saw Hexhamshire run away with things as they played Ryton Michelangelo’s.

Shire recorded a resounding 9-0 victory with Alex Martin, Sam Martin, Matthew Percival James Percival and Armstrong all finding the back of the net too.

A double from man of the match Mark Richardson and strikes from Dan Ramshaw and Will Hedley saw Heddon to a 4-1 victory over Crawcrook Fox and Hounds.

Norman Calvert and Stu Sproul netted for a Haltwhistle Railway side best served by Paul Wilson as Haltwhistle Railway defeated Wark 2-1.

Andy Hall got Wark’s goal and Jake Thompson was named star man.
