ON World Mental Health Day 2020, a county councillor is calling on people to use social media in a friendly way.
Cllr. Gordon Stewart, who represents Prudhoe South, said: "Inappropriate comments made on social media can cause a lot of upset to others.
"Social media is a great tool to share accurate information, but particularly at this time, fake news and abusive comments are having a very severe impact upon many people throughout our communities.
"Lets make #Prudhoe a #socialmedia friendly town."
Mental health charity Mind described this year's World Mental Health Day as the 'most important one yet.'
On social media, it said: "This year has been a tough one for us all, and prioritising mental health has never been more essential than it is now."
