POLICE have confirmed a second burglary-related incident in a Tyne Valley Town.
At 4am on Monday, officers received a report of an attempted burglary on Highfield Lane, in Prudhoe.
It came just 15 minutes before a report of a burglary at an address on the town's West Road, when the occupant claimed to have discovered an intruder inside the property, before making off on foot.
A Northumbria Police spokesman said: "An investigation is in its early stages, but at present, we are treating both incidents as linked."
