AN investigation has been launched after a burglary in a Tyne Valley town.
Just after 4.15am on Monday, police received a report of a burglary at an address on West Road, in Prudhoe.
A Northumbria Police spokesman said: "It was reported that the occupant had found an intruder inside his home - with the offender then making off on foot after being disturbed.
"An investigation has been launched and inquiries are ongoing to trace those involved."
The National Police Air Service (NPAS) assisted throughout the night as part of the ongoing searches.
