TWO teenage girls have shown their potential in cricket by making their marks for Corbridge senior teams.

Representing the club’s second team in the Northumberland and Tyneside Cricket League, hot prospects Katie Chomse and Ciara Boaden were shining lights throughout.

Katie topped the club bowling figures overall with 16 wickets, twice that of her nearest rival, with the highlight seeing her take four wickets at the cost of just 14 runs against Annfield Plain II.

She also managed a half century for Corbridge Angels against Tynedale Women.

Meanwhile, Ciara, a year younger, also showed her class with an unbeaten 58 not out to see the team home at Ryton, also in the NTCL.

Both girls also represented the North in the Regional Development Team through the season. It wasn’t only the playing side that the girls starred in. A summer camp version of the ECB All Stars Cricket programme over four weeks saw the girls volunteer to help and coach 5-8 year olds on the camp and develop the next generation of players.
