TWO ALLEGED thieves are due to stand trial accused of theft from Hexham Abbey.
Matthew Burgess (29), of Regent Street, Blyth, and James Isaac Dodd (35), of Woodlea Crescent, Hexham, are accused of stealing cash of an unknown value from Hexham Abbey on Sunday, February 9 this year.
The pair entered not guilty pleas at an earlier hearing in February.
The case was adjourned. Mr Burgess and Mr Dodd were remanded on unconditional bail until November 25, where a trial will take place at South East Northumberland Magistrates’ Court.
