A YOUNG golf star has followed in her sister’s footsteps by posting an impressive performance at a national golf event.
Charlotte Naughton (12) finished the 2020 season on a high after continued uncertainty and cancellations due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The sister of rising teenage golf star Zara, who won the competition in 2018, Charlotte finished runner-up in the British Wee Wonders Championship held at Gullane Golf Club, in Scotland.
Charlotte, a member at Ponteland Golf Club, was competing in the 11-12 year old category and saved some of her best form for the September showdown. The 12-year-old, who attends St Joseph’s Middle School in Hexham, has seen her handicap reduce from 12 to 5 over the course of the season. Her form also earned her a selection for the North of England Under 18 Elite Girls Squad.
