RESIDENTS of Haltwhistle were treated to a flypass by a Spitfire on Wednesday.
The World War Two fighter was due to fly over Hexham General Hospital at 2.34pm, and Haltwhistle War Memorial Hospital at 2.39pm.
However, the flightpath was altered due to bad weather.
It missed out Hexham, but passed over Haltwhistle at 3:49pm.
It part of a unique fundraising event for NHS Charities Together, and act as a thank you to the frontline NHS workers who have worked tirelessly to care for patients during the coronavirus pandemic.
Those living across Tyneside, Wearside, Northumberland and Durham also had been expecting to see the flypast.
But the Aircraft Restoration Company which owns it - was forced to cancel.
