THE flight of a lone Spitfire over the district's hospitals has been amended.
The World War Two fighter was due to fly over Hexham General Hospital at 2.34pm, and Haltwhistle War Memorial Hospital at 2.39pm.
However, the flightpath has been altered due to bad weather. It will no longer pass over Hexham, but will be over Haltwhistle at 3:49pm.
It was set to be part of a unique fundraising event for NHS Charities Together, and act as a thank you to the frontline NHS workers who have worked tirelessly to care for patients during the coronavirus pandemic.
