A FEARLESS woman overcame her debilitating condition to accomplish a 90ft abseil.

Sue Williamson, who suffers from Multiple Sclerosis (MS) successfully abseiled one Langley Castle’s historic walls on Saturday.

The 62-year-old, who lives at Dilston near Corbridge, took on the challenge in memory of her father, Arthur Williamson, who died during lockdown in April, at the age of 97.

In taking part, Sue also raised money for Shine, a charity which supports mental health. Sue was diagnosed with MS 40 years ago. She has relied on a wheelchair for the past five years, and is supported by a team of dedicated carers.

North-West company Wild About Adventure organised the abseil day, after Langley Castle agreed to host the event in support of charities which would usually benefit from the Great North Run.
