NORTHUMBERLAND Conservatives have elected a new top team, after Coun. Peter Jackson was removed from office.
Coun. Glen Sanderson, who is currently serving as interim leader of the council after a successful motion of no confidence against Coun. Jackson, was elected unopposed as leader of the Conservatives on Northumberland County Council.
Coun. Richard Dodd, who represents Ponteland North, defeated Coun. Gregah Roughead to become deputy leader.
The next leader of the county council will be elected by full council at its next meeting. A meeting has been proposed for September 23, which is when the election is likely to take place.
