HAY bales that fell from the back of a tractor blocked a road in a Tyne Valley town.
The bales fell from a tractor as it went up Priestpopple in Hexham, near the bus station.
They briefly blocked the carriageway - but were then moved onto the pavement beside the Phoenix.
Northumbria Police and Northumberland County Council were both called to the incident and were able to remove them from the road.
