IT went down to the final ball but Tynedale II secured the victory which saw them qualify for the league play-offs.

Needing just one run, the delivery went for four byes to send Tyne to the next round of the shortened campaign.

Their Division Six hosts Gateshead Ethnic Minorities finished on 200-8, with Craig Barber (3-17) claiming three wickets and Adam Newton (2-26) and Nathan Byerley (2-31) two each.

Tynedale recovered from a slow start to test the home side, with Barber (33) and Byerley (43) spearheading the charge, before Dan Toward (33no) and Ben Cuthbertson (29no) firing them home.

Allendale's season finished with a convincing nine wicket victory at Swalwell, who were restricted to 105-8 with thanks to two wickets each from Liam Pringle (2-12), Ben Lloyd (2-21), Tim Raglan (2-21) and Tom Scott (2-25).

Raglan (32) and Lloyd (34no) put the team in sight, with Scott (36no) maintaining the good work for 29 points.

Stocksfield II were two wicket victors over Whickham II, who were all out for 124 as Alistair Thirlwell (6-17) took the plaudits.

Contributions from Matthew Page (34), Ben Wraith (21) and Matthew Tobin (22) helped Stocksfield to victory.

Five wickets at the expense of just two runs from Lance Mallinson saw Riding Mill to a 78 run victory over Ryton II in Division Seven. Mill posted 127-9 with Kiel Zurawlew (28), Liam James (20) and Steve Kent (16) top scoring.

Mallinson ripped through the Ryton order and, with the assistance of Andy Watson (3-18) had Ryton dismissed for just 49 in total.

Stocksfield III posted 113, which was 17 more than what their hosts, neighbours Corbridge II, could muster.

Stocksfield were put in the driving seat with thanks largely to Steven Page (40) and Peter Walker (25), despite three wickets each for Katie Chomse (3-16) and David Smurthwaite (3-18).

Corbridge's best shot in reply came courtesy of Shaun Fenwick (22) and Smurthwaite (13) but they fell short. For Stocksfield, Nomi Numan (3-21) took three wickets and Alice Sargeant (2-14) and Alfie McGray (2-15) two each.
