THREE members of the same family are due to stand trial after pleading not guilty to affray.
Audrey Dagless (58), Jak Dagless (21) and Richard Dagless (25), of Westgate, Haltwhistle, are accused of affray on Christmas Day in 2018.
It is alleged the trio used or threatened unlawful violence at Scotsfield Terrace, Haltwhistle, on December 25 2018.
North Tyneside Magistrates' Court heard on Thursday how two police officers attended the scene after a domestic incident was reported. The court heard the officers were "badly assaulted" and suffered "serious injuries".
The court was told one of the officers suffered Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and has not returned to work since the incident.
The trio were released on unconditional bail and will appear at Newcastle Crown Court on October 1.
