CUMBRIA gas supplier Northern Gas Networks (NGN) has been commended for its health and safety practices.

It received the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) award for excellent health and safety practices.

NGN won a gold award from RoSPA for the fourth consecutive year. The company received its award at an online ceremony on Thursday.

The international RoSPA Health and Safety Awards are open to UK and international entrants, and recognise achievements in health and safety, including good practice in the areas of leadership and workforce involvement.

Every year, nearly 2,000 entrants vie to achieve the highest possible accolade in the UK’s longest-running health and safety industry awards.

Mark Simpson, environment, health and safety manager at NGN, said: “Operating a safe and reliable gas network is our number one priority."
