AN 89TH minute winner from defender Paul Wilson saw Haltwhistle Jubilee come out on top against Tyne Valley rivals Hexham in their first game in Division One of the Northern Alliance.

As competitive football returned to the district for the first time since March, the two rivals played out an exciting game at the Burn with hosts Haltwhistle looking comfortable at 3-0 up courtesy of an opener from Aaron Hardy and a double from Dan Parker.

However, Hexham fought back to level the game at 3-3 in the 82nd minute, before Wilson ensured the three points belonged to Halty with his late, decisive header.

It's fellow Tynedale side Prudhoe Youth Club Seniors who top the table after one game played as they thumped Felling Magpies 7-2, Arron Fletcher impressing with a hat-trick.
